Greenhouse Gas Emissions & Carbon Stability

The Pipeline Project

We are scaling greenhouse gas emissions and carbon sequestration strategies, from the lab to the field, to prove their economic potential.

For agricultural soils to mitigate climate change, we need current and novel management strategies – from reduced tillage to cover crops, bio-based amendments and alternative cropping systems. But most of these frontier strategies are not widely adopted in North Carolina, nor globally.

Scaling these approaches from an insulated laboratory to the real world requires a research pipeline infrastructure. We’re constructing agronomic and economic frameworks to propel promising research to production-scale.
